The Reactor Technology Integration Group (ReTI) is part of the Department of Engineering Physics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Our core mission is to perform research to increase the cost competitiveness of nuclear power – the key driver of its current and future success – and hence to expand/maintain the amount of nuclear energy used and therefore contribute to climate change mitigation and energy security.
We have two major focus areas:
- The development and improvement of nuclear reactor technology through design and modelling
- The flexible operation of nuclear reactors and their integration with other energy systems – to increase the revenue that can be generated through nuclear power.
